What we can help with
Questions about how matching works, requests to see or delete your data, opting out of calls or texts, and corrections to anything on this site. We cannot discuss a specific lender's decision, because lenders make those decisions on their own.
Report a concern
Complaints about a lender can go to the CFPB or your state regulator. If you suspect a loan scam, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
What to include in your message
You will get an answer faster if your message has the page address, what you expected and what happened, and the email address you used on the form if the question is about a request. Do not send a Social Security number, a bank login or a card number by email; we will never ask for them.
Requests we can handle
| Request | What to send |
|---|---|
| See or correct my data | Your name, the email or phone you used and the approximate date |
| Delete my data | The same details, plus a statement that you want deletion |
| Stop calls or texts | The phone number to stop. You can also reply STOP to a text |
| Stop email | The email address to stop |
| Correct a page | The page address and the correction, with a source if you have one |
| Question about how matching works | Your question, and the page you were reading |
What we cannot do
We cannot tell you why a lender made a decision, because lenders decide on their own, and we cannot change a lender's terms. If you have a complaint about a lender, contact the lender first, then the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or your state regulator. For suspected fraud, use ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
Beware of impersonators
Scammers sometimes copy the names of real companies. We will never contact you to ask for a fee, a gift card, a wire or a password. If you are unsure whether a message came from us, do not click links in it. Instead, call the number on this page.
Where each kind of complaint goes
| About | Go to | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A lender's loan terms or servicing | The lender, then the CFPB | Keep dates, names and documents |
| A lender's license | Your state financial regulator | Search the lender's name first |
| A scam or fake lender | ReportFraud.ftc.gov and your state attorney general | Report quickly and tell your bank |
| Credit report errors | The credit bureau, then the CFPB | Dispute in writing |
| Debt collection | The collector in writing, then the CFPB | Ask for validation of the debt |
| Something on this site | Us, using the details above | Include the page address |
Accessibility and language
If any page on this site is hard to use with a screen reader or keyboard, tell us which page and what went wrong. We will fix what we can and tell you if we cannot. If you need information in another format, ask and we will try to help or point you to a free service.
Business inquiries
Press, partnership and data questions can use the same email address. Please do not send loan applications or personal financial documents by email. If you are a lender that wishes to be considered as a partner, tell us the states you serve and the loan amounts you offer, and we will reply if there is a fit.
A short guide to what to do if you were contacted by "us"
If you got a call, text or email that mentions Personal Loan Compare or 1st Advantage Mortgage and you did not submit a request, do not respond with personal details. Real messages from us refer to the request you submitted, give a way to opt out and never ask for payment. If you did submit a request and want to confirm a message is real, email us with the date you submitted and what the message said, and we will confirm.

How requests are handled
When a message arrives we read it, decide which kind of request it is and respond from the address on this page. Data requests are checked against the contact details you used on the form so that we do not release information to the wrong person. Requests to stop calls, texts or email are recorded and applied across our systems and the partners who hold your request. If the matter is a complaint about us, we look at what happened, correct what we can and tell you the outcome. If you are not satisfied, you may take the complaint to the CFPB or your state attorney general.
Hours and what to expect
Phone calls are answered during regular business hours Eastern Time, and email can be sent any time. We cannot give legal, tax or credit repair advice. For legal questions, consult an attorney; for free help with debt, use a nonprofit credit counselor.
Before you call
Have the email address you used on the form, the approximate date you submitted and the question you want answered. If you are calling about a scam attempt, have the phone number or website that contacted you and any payment details ready so that we can point you to the right agency.
